Did you select the ScanSnap that you are using in the scan window of ScanSnap Home?
Make sure that the ScanSnap that you are using is selected from the ScanSnap list in the scan window in the following procedure.

Display the scan window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.

Check that the ScanSnap that you are using is displayed in the ScanSnap list at the top of the window.
If another ScanSnap unit is selected, select the ScanSnap that you are using.
A USB cable may not be recognized correctly
Check the following:

If you are using a USB hub, whether you can connect the ScanSnap directly to the computer via a USB cable and scan documents

Whether the ScanSnap can perform a scan after it is connected to another USB port on the computer

Whether you can scan documents after unplugging and plugging the USB cable several times from the ScanSnap and the computer
-
Whether a USB cable has a problem such as damage to the USB terminal part or the cable part
[Windows] Errors might occur with the ScanSnap driver
Use the recovery tool in the following procedure to recover the connection status of the ScanSnap.

Display the scan window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.

Select [Preferences] in the menu that appears when you click
at the top of the scan window to display the preferences window.

Select the ScanSnap that you are using from the list of ScanSnap units that is located in [Scanner information] in the [Scanner] tab.

Click the [Recover] button, and follow the message that appears to solve the problem.
[macOS] Do you have access permission for the [tmp] folder on your computer?
If you do not have read and write permissions for the [tmp] folder on your computer, you cannot scan documents.
Set read and write permissions for the [tmp] folder under the [private] folder on your computer.
Is another ScanSnap unit connected to the computer via a USB cable?
If you connect one more ScanSnap unit to a computer via a USB cable while another ScanSnap unit that is connected to the computer via a USB cable already exists, the ScanSnap that you connected cannot be recognized by ScanSnap Home.
Turn off the ScanSnap unit that is not intended to be used.

When the startup mode of ScanSnap iX2500, iX1600, iX1600 Receipt Edition, iX1500, or iX1300 is set to [Fast], the ScanSnap is not turned off even if you close the ADF paper chute (cover). Unplug the power cable from the AC outlet.
Are the latest updates applied to ScanSnap Home?
Update ScanSnap Home to the latest.
