[Windows] A security software may be preventing the ScanSnap Home installation file from running.
Use the offline installer and install ScanSnap Home again.

If more than one security software is installed on the computer, the software may be preventing the ScanSnap Home installation file form running unintentionally. If security software that is not being used is installed, uninstall it.
[macOS] Do you have access permission for the [tmp] folder on your computer?
If you do not have read and write permissions for the [tmp] folder on your computer, ScanSnap Home will fail to install.
Set read and write permissions for the [tmp] folder under the [private] folder on your computer.
