[Windows/macOS] A scanned image is not converted into a Word/Excel/PowerPoint file

Is the latest version of ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap installed on a computer?

To convert scanned images into Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files, the latest version of ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap needs to be installed on the computer.

If the installed ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap is not the latest version, uninstall ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap and then install the latest version.

  • Uninstalling ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap

    Refer to ScanSnap Help for uninstallation.

  • Installing ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap

    Install ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap by using the ScanSnap Online Update.

    Windows

    ATTENTION

    • To use the ScanSnap Online Update, you need to have access to the Internet.

    • Log on as a user with Administrator privileges.

    • To install ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap, you need the latest version of ScanSnap Home.

    1. Display the scan window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.

    2. Select [Open ScanSnap Home] in the menu that appears when you click Three Dots at the top of the scan window to display the main window.

    3. Select [Help] in the menu → [Online Update] → [Check for updates].

    4. Follow the instructions to install ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap.

      For details, refer to ScanSnap Online Update Help.

    TIP

    • If ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap is not displayed in the ScanSnap Online Update window, perform the following and then start up the ScanSnap Online Update again.

      • Getting a connected status on the ScanSnap

      • Select the [Check for available software as well] checkbox in the ScanSnap Online Update settings

    macOS
