Did the document skew during scanning?

If the document is tilted and fed at an angle during scanning, a shadow may appear at the top or bottom edge of the scanned image.

When you load the document, adjust the side guides to the width of the document.

Hold each side guide in the middle to adjust them. Otherwise, the document may be fed skewed.

Did you apply the setting to correct a skewed document?

If a standard size is selected for [Document size] in the scan settings, selecting the [Correct a skewed document] checkbox can reduce a shadow at the top or bottom edge of the scanned image.

Modify the setting in the following procedure:

1. Display the scan window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.

   • To display the scan window

2. Select the profile that you are using from the profile list.

3. Click the [Edit profiles] button to display the [Edit profiles] window.

4. Click the [Option] button for [Feed] to display the [Feed option] window.

5. Select the [Correct a skewed document] checkbox.
